YAYOI KUSAMA
Yayoi Kusama is an artist form Tokyo, she resides in a psychiatric hospital. She creates Infinity net which are paintings that don't have an edge or a starting point. She creates these to help her process her mental illnesses. she told a reporter “I fight pain, anxiety, and fear every day, and the only method I have found that relieves my illness is to keep creating art,”. (Artist Describes How Art Saved Her Life, 2017).
Her art consists of millions of polka dots, in a variety of colors and is made with an assortment of items, paint, lights. She collaborated with Louis Vuitton to have her art on some of his purses.

I created this piece of art work because I personally love colors and one of the things that always makes me happy is when i see rainbows after a storm. From seeing her art i just think about how some of my family members and friends suffer form mental health disorders. We always talk about how there will always be a rainbow after the storm, that's what her art work reminds me of.
Most of the time rainbows are calm and not everyone's rainbow looks the same. Mine art work is below ( Image 1) and is full of bright colors. Hers ( Image 2) is darker with limited color. Regardless of what colors are used or how bright it is the "rainbow" or in this case the infinity nets/ infinity mirrors are capable of calming people down.
